Job Summary
We are seeking a cleanly, energetic and detail-oriented Kitchen Lead to oversee daily kitchen operations in a fast-paced, hospitality-focused environment. As a key member of our culinary team, you will lead food preparation, manage kitchen staff, ensure food safety standards, and maintain efficient workflow. Track inventory and prepare truck orders, ensure special diertary needs & regulations are being met and common practices like FIFO are being enforced. Your leadership will inspire excellence in food quality, customer service, and team collaboration, creating a vibrant dining experience for our Residents. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise and management skills while fostering a positive and productive kitchen atmosphere.
Duties
- Supervise daily kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking, and plating to ensure high standards of quality and presentation
- Demonstrate cleanliness in all aspects and ensure staff to do the same.
- Training new kitchen employees that will be under your supervision
- Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste to optimize food costs
- Oversee food safety protocols and sanitation procedures in compliance with health regulations and company policies
- Lead staff training and development initiatives to enhance culinary skills, customer service, and team performance
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth shift operations and exceptional guest experiences
- Conduct shift management duties including working with scheduling and supervising team members, and resolving operational issues promptly
Skills
- Extensive experience in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management within casual dining or fast food environments
- No point of sale experience and or cash handling will be involved so no worries about having to audit or reconcile a cash register end of the day.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control, food safety standards, and food handling procedures
- Proven leadership skills with experience in staff training, supervising teams, and managing hospitality operations
- Excellent customer service abilities with a focus on creating welcoming dining atmospheres
- Ability to manage multiple priorities through effective shift management and problem-solving skills
- Background in restaurant or hotel management with experience in managing profit & loss analysis, budgeting, and food production processes
