Duties
- Monitor residents’ conditions throughout the night, including checking vital signs and observing for any changes in health status
- Assist residents with personal care activities such as toileting, hygiene, repositioning, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Document patient information accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring all medical records are up-to-date and compliant with HIPAA regulations
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers, following aseptic techniques and safety protocols
- Respond promptly to call lights or emergency signals from residents or staff, providing immediate assistance or alerting appropriate medical personnel
- Support residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including feeding, dressing, and mobility assistance in a compassionate manner
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care during overnight shifts
Skills
- Proven experience working in long-term care facilities, nursing homes, assisted living, or hospital settings with exposure to critical care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and vital signs monitoring
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms for accurate documentation
- Experience in dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care or working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs
- Ability to perform phlebotomy procedures and catheter care when required
- Skilled in infection control practices including aseptic technique and infectious disease care protocols
- Competent in handling specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts and managing patient transfers safely
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times
- Excellent caregiving skills with a focus on geriatrics, pediatrics (if applicable), and home & community care experience
- Certification in basic life support (BLS) or CPR is highly preferred
