What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hotel Maintenance Technician position at Country Inn & Suites?
The Maintenance Technician will perform general maintenance and repairs for the hotel including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems. You must be available on weekends and holidays, as needed, as well on-call for any emergency issues. Please note that pay will be negotiable and based on experience. We have part-time and full-time positions available.
Responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:
- Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
- Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs and resolve issues/work orders in a timely manner.
- Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, plumbing, electric, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
- Performs routine maintenance on building systems and hotel grounds.
- Performs routine maintenance on all guestrooms and public areas.
- Performs daily routine maintenance on indoor pool/spa. (Not required to have previous skills in this area as we can train you!)
- Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
- Orders supplies and materials, as needed, for repairs and maintenance.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to follow instructions from staff, senior maintenance workers, or management/owner.
- Knowledge of general carpentry and repair.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools. (YOU MUST HAVE YOUR OWN BASIC TOOLS!)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize work assignments, with the ability to focus on details, speed, and accuracy.
- Must be willing to travel short distances to other hotel properties to assist with other Maintenance Technicians on jobs as needed.
