What You’ll Do
- Teach daily living skills such as hygiene, cooking, cleaning, and communication
- Lead and participate in community outings and recreational activities
- Keep clients engaged through fun, structured sessions that may include movement, play, or group tasks
- Support communication, problem-solving, and self-regulation strategies
- Set up and lead small group activities or learning centers
- Use visuals and adapted materials to support individual learning styles
- Assist with toileting, feeding, dressing, and other personal care as needed
Job Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
- Must pass a background check and caregiver check
- Ability to lift/support up to 50 pounds for participant care
- Physically able to walk, bend, jog, and swim in shallow water
- Willing and able to assist clients with transitions, hygiene, and toileting as needed
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities
- Skills in caregiving, direct support, or youth instruction
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
