What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Transition Instructor position at Cerebral Palsy Inc?
JOB SUMMARY: To provide engaging activities to teens participating in the Summer Program.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Instruct and implement all program activities, including swimming and community field trips.
- Assist with activity planning as appropriate.
- Maintain communication with supervisor and co-workers.
- Inform supervisor of any client and staff concerns.
- Communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client’s daily activities.
- Provide assistance with personal cares for male and female clients, such as, toileting, feeding, dressing, showering, transportation on and off the bus
- Complete necessary documentation to include: client notebooks, attendance, special health care procedures, incident reports, worker’s compensation form, seizure reports, behavior reports, etc.
- Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
- Provide direction to volunteers during program activities and community outings
- Clean up program areas after use as needed and maintain a safe work environment.
- Prepared to assume responsibilities as appropriate and assigned by supervisor.
- Adhere to the agency safety policies and procedures.
- Adheres to Drug Free Workplace policy.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience and/or training working with kids/adults who have severe and multiple disabilities.
- Physically able to lift and transfer individuals (minimum of 25lbs).
- Must have the balance and coordination to assist clients with ADL tasks.
- Successful completion of background check, lift test, communicable disease screen and drug screen.
