- Prepare and process invoices using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
- Manage accounts receivable by tracking payments, following up on overdue accounts, and reconciling discrepancies through detailed account analysis.
- Perform data entry tasks with precision, including journal entries, CPT coding for medical billing, ICD-10 coding, and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Conduct account reconciliation to verify the integrity of financial data and support audit readiness in compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) regulations.
- Assist with the revenue cycle management process by monitoring the entire billing cycle from patient or client data collection to payment posting.
- Collaborate with medical professionals and insurance providers to resolve billing issues, negotiate payment plans, and improve collection rates.
- Support governmental and non-profit accounting functions by ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards.
- Utilize technical accounting skills to analyze financial data, prepare reports, and contribute to month-end closing activities.
- Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, account reconciliation, and revenue recognition.
- Knowledge of medical billing processes, CPT coding, ICD-10 coding standards, and medical terminology is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements and governmental or non-profit accounting practices.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing proficiency).
- Effective negotiation skills combined with excellent phone etiquette for customer service interactions.
