What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Coordinator position at Council on Substance Abuse-NCADD?
COSA is looking to add a Program Coordinator to its college initiative team to address substance misuse and mental health on the campuses of Alabama State University, Talladega College, and Tuskegee University. A Coordinator is expected to be self-starting, creative, and have demonstrated experience establishing community partnerships, coordinating health-related presentations and events, and using social media platforms to engage and inform to audiences. The Coordinator reports to the Program Manager and works with other team members to ensure the goals and objectives of the project are achieved.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and implement campus presentations, events, and outreach activities at Alabama State University, Talladega College, and Tuskegee University.
- Complete administrative tasks and other programmatic support activities.
- Coordinate all social media activities for the project.
- Assist with project data collection and generating grant reports.
- Facilitate project meetings and other program and community meetings, as directed.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a human services field with one year of experience in training and providing direct services in at least one of the following areas: mental health and/or substance misuse prevention or treatment services, health promotion services, school services, community organizing- Experience may be cumulative
- Advanced experience in group facilitation and public speaking
- Advanced user of Microsoft Office, knowledge of other software applications (e.g., desktop publishing, etc.…)
- Extensive knowledge of mental health and substance use disorders
- Regularly is out of the office, drives a vehicle, and lifts or moves objects weighing up to 50 lbs
- Works for sustained periods of time maintaining concentrated attention to detail
- Must pass a criminal background and drug test
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Flexibility and ability to work evenings and weekends
- Work requires traveling using personal vehicle- Mileage compensation is provided
- Valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $49,000.00 per year
