Duties
- Safely operate bucket trucks, tree trucks, and other specialized machinery for tree trimming, pruning, removal, and landscape maintenance.
- Use rigging techniques and arborist rigging gear to safely dismantle or prune trees in complex environments.
- Perform tree care tasks including planting, pruning, fertilizing, and health assessments based on horticultural principles.
- Conduct site inspections using GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools to map and document tree conditions and landscape features.
- Execute land clearing activities such as stump grinding, debris removal, and land preparation for landscaping projects.
- Follow all safety protocols rigorously during equipment operation and outdoor work activities to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including tree health assessments, rigging procedures, and equipment maintenance logs.
Experience
- Proven experience operating bucket trucks or similar aerial lift equipment in outdoor environments.
- Strong knowledge of arborist rigging techniques, tree removal methods, and plant pruning care.
- Familiarity with GIS mapping tools used for landscape planning or environmental assessment.
- Hands-on experience with chainsaws, lawn care tools, landscape maintenance equipment, and other horticultural machinery.
- Demonstrated understanding of safety procedures related to outdoor work at heights and heavy machinery operation.
- Background in horticulture or dendrology (the study of trees) is highly desirable.
- Prior experience working in landscaping or land management projects that involve growing plants or maintaining green spaces is a plus.
