Job Summary
The Human Resources Generalist II plays a critical role in supporting the day-to-day functions of the Human Resources department, with a strong emphasis on employee relations, investigations, and compliance. This position partners closely with operations and leadership to address workplace concerns, conduct thorough and timely investigations, and ensure consistent application of company policies and employment laws.
In addition to employee relations, this role supports recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and leave management, while providing guidance to the HR team and field leadership on best practices and process improvements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Investigations (Primary Focus):
- Conduct prompt, thorough, and impartial investigations into employee complaints, including harassment, discrimination, policy violations, and workplace misconduct
- Gather and analyze witness statements, documentation, and evidence to make informed recommendations
- Prepare clear, concise, and legally sound documentation, including investigation summaries, disciplinary actions, and termination memos
- Partner with leadership to determine appropriate corrective actions, ensuring consistency and risk mitigation
- Provide guidance and coaching to managers on employee relations matters, conflict resolution, and performance management
- Support and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, up to and including terminations
- Ensure confidentiality, professionalism, and adherence to anti-retaliation standards throughout all employee interactions
Recruitment & Onboarding:
- Manage and oversee recruitment processes, including the HRIS recruitment module, candidate tracking, and onboarding workflows
- Provide direction and support to the HR team and hiring managers on recruitment strategies, trends, and system processes
- Ensure timely and compliant completion of new hire onboarding, including I-9 verification and background checks
Process Improvement & HR Systems:
- Partner with HR leadership to identify and implement process improvements, including workflow optimization and system enhancements (e.g., HRIS, performance management tools)
- Support rollout and training of new HR processes and systems
Compliance & Training:
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Track and document completion of required training programs (e.g., anti-harassment, compliance training)
- Assist in updating policies and procedures to align with regulatory changes and company standards
Employee Support & Communication:
- Serve as a point of contact for employee and manager inquiries, providing timely and accurate guidance
- Escalate complex or sensitive matters as appropriate while maintaining ownership and follow-through
Other Duties:
- Perform additional duties and special projects assigned

- Legal Knowledge: Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws (California experience strongly preferred)
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS systems (e.g., ADP Workforce Now) preferred
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
- 2–4 years of HR experience with a strong focus on employee relations and investigations preferred
- Experience supporting multi-site or field operations environments is a plus
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally
- Ability to travel to various locations and access different departments as needed
Salary : $36 - $39
