Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and providing excellent customer service. This role requires a strong focus on safety, route management, and efficient handling of deliveries using commercial vehicles such as box trucks. Prior delivery driver experience and familiarity with warehouse operations are highly valued.
Duties
- Safely operate a box truck or similar commercial vehicle to deliver products to customers and clients.
- Load and unload goods using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual handling techniques, ensuring proper handling of heavy items.
- Manage delivery routes efficiently, adhering to scheduled times and optimizing routes for timely deliveries.
- Provide exceptional customer service by ensuring accurate deliveries and addressing customer inquiries professionally.
- Assist with warehouse tasks including inventory management, loading, and moving products as needed.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are met.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs for each trip.
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations during route driving.
Experience
- Prior experience as a delivery driver or courier is preferred, especially with route driving in urban or suburban areas.
- Experience operating box trucks or similar commercial vehicles with manual transmission is desirable.
- Warehouse experience, including the use of forklifts and pallet jacks, is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and moving of goods safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with driving a
driver vehicle or similar commercial transportation is advantageous. - Previous experience in load & unload operations, route planning, and managing delivery schedules will be beneficial.
