What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapy Assistant -PTA Per Diem position at Cottage Hospital?
Cottage Hospital is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our Physical Therapy team. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to provide hands-on patient care and support individuals throughout their rehabilitation journey.
Responsibilities include carrying out treatment plans based on physician orders and PT direction, utilizing appropriate therapy techniques, and monitoring patient progress. You will communicate updates on patient status with both the care team and patients, ensuring continuity and quality of care.
The role also involves completing accurate and timely documentation for patient records and reimbursement purposes, supporting re-evaluation scheduling with the Physical Therapist, and incorporating discharge planning into treatment plans. You will provide education to patients and families, helping them understand and continue care outside of therapy sessions.
This position requires strong attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to follow departmental policies related to documentation, billing, and patient care. Participation in department meetings and quality improvement efforts is also expected.
