Job Summary
Grade: 6th Grade Math/Science Teacher Technology Middle School provides a 21st century learning atmosphere while maintaining a strong belief in a child centered education. Students at Tech Middle learn through activities that expose the students to real world problems, questions or challenges. Our students learn how to work collaboratively, use critical thinking and problem solving skills, as well as learning to self-manage. Tech Middle cultivates a strong school community where families and the larger community are welcome and are essential participants in the success of our school. As part of the application process, applicants are required to submit a complete record of prior education-related employment. PRIMARY FUNCTION To develop and implement an instructional program that will effectively provide the best possible education for each student. QUALIFICATIONS 1. Valid California Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in the grade level and/or subject area to which assigned 2. Clear tuberculosis screening 3. Department of Justice Clearance ESSENTIAL SKILLS: Demonstrates knowledge of the California State Standards in the assigned teaching area Differentiates instruction to meet the needs of students of varying abilities Maintains an organized program of instruction based on effective long range plans Exhibits evidence of effective lesson plans Utilizes a variety of appropriate materials and resources Communicates each lesson’s objective and its importance to students Utilizes appropriate and varied teaching techniques and learning activities Utilizes out-of-class assignments, when appropriate, to support instructional objectives Regularly assesses student performance and uses this data to plan instruction Maintains an effective system of monitoring student progress Maintains an effective classroom learning environment Follows school and school board policies and regulations Works cooperatively with the school and district staf
