- Prepare and analyze journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections.
- Utilize various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Workday, UltiPro, Ceridian, Kronos, ADP, Paychex, and others to record financial transactions efficiently.
- Perform payroll management tasks using systems like ADP or UltiPro while ensuring compliance with tax regulations and payroll laws.
- Assist with budgeting activities, financial forecasting, and data entry tasks that support organizational planning efforts.
- Support internal controls related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance and participate in audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.
- Proven experience in corporate accounting or governmental accounting environments with a strong understanding of financial concepts.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or equivalent systems; familiarity with payroll software like ADP or Paychex is highly desirable.
- Solid knowledge of GAAP standards along with experience in technical accounting and public accounting practices.
- Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation, journal entries, balance sheet analysis, and double-entry bookkeeping with precision.
- Strong math skills complemented by excellent data entry accuracy (10 key typing).
- Experience with tax preparation processes and non-profit accounting is a plus.
