Job Summary:
The Production Line Leader is responsible for overseeing and leading the daily operations of a production line, ensuring that products are manufactured efficiently, safely, and in compliance with quality standards. This position requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a focus on team coordination to ensure smooth production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Production Line Staff: Lead and supervise a team of operators and technicians on the production line, ensuring they are properly trained, motivated, and aligned with production goals.
- Ensure Production Targets are Met: Monitor the production process to ensure that daily, weekly, and monthly production goals are met efficiently, without compromising quality or safety.
- Ensure Quality Control: Work closely with the Quality Control (QC) team to maintain consistent product quality throughout the production process. Implement corrective actions when necessary to resolve quality issues.
- Troubleshoot Production Issues: Identify and resolve production problems (e.g., equipment breakdowns, supply shortages, or process inefficiencies), minimizing downtime and ensuring smooth workflow.
- Maintain Production Standards: Ensure adherence to production schedules, standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and all relevant regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with Other Departments: Collaborate with other departments, such as Maintenance, Warehouse, and Quality Control, to ensure seamless production flow and effective resource management.
- Monitor Equipment Performance: Oversee the proper use and maintenance of production equipment. Ensure that all machinery is functioning optimally and report any technical issues to the maintenance team.
- Train and Develop Staff: Provide training and development opportunities for production line staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs safely and efficiently.
- Track and Report Metrics: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production output, quality rates, and downtime. Report progress to management and recommend improvements.
- Enforce Health and Safety Standards: Ensure all team members comply with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe work environment. Promote a culture of safety on the production floor.
- Lead Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Participate in continuous improvement efforts, such as lean manufacturing practices or process optimization projects, to increase productivity and reduce waste.
- Manage Shift Transitions: Oversee shift changes to ensure a smooth handover of responsibilities and a continuous flow of production.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in manufacturing or production management is a plus.
