As a Maintenance Technician I you will be responsible for maintaining organization, safety, and preventative maintenance throughout the facility, outside storage areas and throughout the entire property. This position normally works Monday–Friday, but longer hours and weekends will be required during the olive harvest season and as needed throughout the year. The harvest season typically lasts about 5 weeks but may extend.
This position will be primarily responsible to:
- Share equipment knowledge to other technicians that are not as experienced.
- Follow all department and company policies and procedures (Safety and Food Safety).
- Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Provide quick responses/solutions to complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Join in regular team meetings to assess progress, bring up solutions to challenges, and complete daily priorities.
- Completing PM tasks and maintaining the CMMS System daily.
- Lubricate, clean, and perform preventative maintenance to equipment and machinery.
- Support maintenance team members/co-workers, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Diagnose and resolve complex equipment malfunctions, utilizing your expertise in electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC, and other relevant areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance:
- Complete preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment and machinery used in olive oil production through the CMMS.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Monitor equipment performance, recommending upgrades or replacements as necessary.
- Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Provide quick responses/solutions to complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Perform 5 or more of these types of equipment repairs / skills: Electrical systems ranging from 24 VDC to 480 AC 3 phase, Troubleshooting and repair of Hydro, Basic Decanter Theory, Basic Centrifugal Theory, Vibrator equipment adjustments, Belt Tension, Lube PM, Certification to use all the following: Boom lift, Forklift, Scissor Lift, Reach-all forklift, and Overhead Crane, Malaxer Theory, Proficient in Basic Plumbing, Repairs to Conveyor Systems (Belts & Pumps), Hydraulics, Pneumatics, PLC and networks, Basic understanding of HVAC, Steam, Robotics; able to weld (Stick and TIG), L.O.T.O., Motor Changes, Crusher maintenance, Talc equipment, Pump service including 2 of the following: Piston, Positive Displacement, Centrifugal, Diaphragm.
Safety & Compliance:
- Adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
- Join in on the regular safety inspections and enforce safety protocols among co-workers.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation for compliance and reference.
- Use Safety & Lock-out/Tag-out Program (for each machine servicing).
- Work in a team environment and professionally supportive of all company initiatives.
- Complete Pre-job Hazard Analysis of work before doing non-routine tasks.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Communicate safer work practices when you see a vendor or co-worker making a risky choice.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Plumbing experience.
- Knowledge of HVAC.
- Beginner Welder.
- Certified Maintenance Reliability Technician Degree.
- Predictive Maintenance And/or Precision Maintenance Certification.
Physical Requirements:
Moderate lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; moderate stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and moderate fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires the following percentages of time committed to physical activity: 50% or less sitting, 25% or more walking, and 25% or more standing. The job is performed under frequent temperature variations and in a manufacturing environment. Unrestricted visual and audio abilities are required for the safety of all employees. The ability to lift up to 45 lbs. is required.
