Pipe Fitter & Welder

We have an exciting opportunity for a Pipefitter/Welder to join our company at our Harbor Beach, MI production facility.

This role will be on site at the Corteva location.

What You’ll Do:

• Perform maintenance tasks on piping components and systems.
• Install, remove and inspect flanged piping connections using proper torque and bolt-up protocols.
• Perform basic hand rigging of piping and other mechanical equipment.
• Fabricate pipe, tubing parts and assemblies (weld carbon, stainless and higher alloy steel).
• Provide reports on timeline, progress, and adjustments to work coordinator.
• Enter hours and history as required into our Maintenance Management System (SAP).
• Identify and manage materials and equipment.
• Measure and sketch pipe systems and plan piping systems layouts.
• Follow the Core Permit and Tag Out Process to ensure all energy is isolated prior to working on piping system.
• Maintain respirator fit testing and use it when Core Permit dictates.
• Develop and update procedures to efficiently, effectively and safely work on piping systems.
• Provide support to improvement / small projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education:

• You have your High School Diploma/GED.

What Skills You Need:

• You have completed OR are working towards a vocational school certificate or trade apprenticeship.
• You have a minimum of two years of experience in pipefitting.
• You have a valid US driver’s license.
• You can manage multiple projects while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• You are willing and able to work in closed spaces, elevated areas and lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
• You are willing and able to wear required PPE as needed which can include but is not limited to face shield, gloves, hearing protection, respirator, etc.
• You have demonstrated experience threading and joining pipe & valve assemblies.
• You are willing and able to work a daytime schedule and overtime hours including weekend work as needed.

What Makes You Stand Out:

• Two-year degree in pipefitting, welding or a related technology.
• Ability to do MIG and TIG welding.
• Experience with cast iron repair.
• Underground or utility waterline maintenance experience.
