Position Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Welder/Fitter to join our fabrication team. This position is responsible for fitting and welding structural steel components according to blueprints and specifications.
Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
- Perform MIG welding on structural steel
- Fit and assemble steel components
- Read and interpret structural blueprints and shop drawings
- Torch cutting and material preparation
- Operate shears, punches, and grinders
- Inspect welds for quality and accuracy
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a commercial welder/fitter
- Proficient in MIG welding
- Ability to read and understand structural blueprints
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Must pass a visual weld test at the time of interview
- Strong attention to detail
- Dependable and punctual
