Job Description
The Plant Operator is responsible for daily operations of the facility’s central energy plant, and main plumbing, electrical, and HVAC/R systems. Utilizing a working knowledge of boilers, chillers and other plant equipment, the Plant Operator ensures the plant consistently runs efficiently, safely, and smoothly. The Plant Operator implements strategies to drive continuous improvement and maintain model operation by planning, organizing, directing and running optimum day-to-day operations to meet or exceed regulatory requirements, industry standards, manufacturer’s recommendations, company policies and procedures and by creating work schedules, developing maintenance schedules, and mentoring general maintenance technicians. The Plant Operator will adhere to processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity, as well as, increase equipment efficiency, capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards to complete equipment repairs and renovations, and maintain inventory of plant assets, maintenance tools, and supplies.

Required Education and Experience

3-5 years of boiler operator experience required.
HVAC and electrical licenses preferred.

- Schedule and performs preventative maintenance and repairs on all utility systems.
- Maintains high standards and appearance of physical plant and mechanical rooms.
- Act as resource person and fill in on-call in supervisor’s absence.
