Join a cornerstone of the Pacific Northwest’s energy infrastructure — as a Senior Electronics Engineer (Level 3) in our Control Center Communications Operations (JTO) team. What You’ll Do
As part of a collaborative, expert team, you’ll:
- Engineer & Integrate: Support the design, integration, and operation of complex telecommunication systems within Control Centers using platforms like SolarWinds, Telenium, Nokia NSP, and Ciena Blue Planet.
- Lead Mission-Critical Projects: Coordinate with Power Systems Control engineers, project managers, and field teams to deploy new telecom infrastructure across operational network.
- Optimize & Automate: Develop automation scripts, database visualizations (Power BI), and standardized O&M procedures to improve efficiency and compliance.
- Maintain High Availability Systems: Configure and support LAN/WAN, Carrier Ethernet/MPLS, Packet Transport Systems, and Automatic Fiber Management Systems with mission-critical reliability.
- Drive Compliance & Documentation: Draft and maintain NERC/CIP, FISMA, and technical system documentation, ensuring full regulatory and audit compliance.
- Serve as a Technical Mentor: Deliver in-depth system training, lead integration testing, and provide subject matter expertise to technical workgroups and management.

REQUIREMENTS
Education & Corresponding Experience (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (from an ABET accredited school) is required.
- 10 years of experience and knowledge of computer network and systems concepts, principals, and practices applicable to components and facilities found on a regional transmission system is required.
Required Technical Skills & Experience (required)
- 5 years of experience in the following:
- Project teams developing computer and / or network systems.
- Telecom/Network systems engineering principles and concepts with minimal guidance.
- Experience reviewing and evaluating design packages (including drawings, material certifications, and submittals) for conformance to the design specifications.
Preferred Skills & Experience (optional)
- 5 years of Carrier Ethernet/MPLS and/or network systems programming/troubleshooting experience.
- Network Telecommunications experience in LAN/WAN network environments to include testing new and existing telecommunications management systems such as Solarwinds, -Telenium, Nokia NSP, and Linux based operating system to support the integration of Control Center projects.
- The systems encountered in this position are digital systems that monitor and control devices from the central stations. Familiarity and experience with these systems:
- Knowledge about leading project teams developing computer and / or network systems, evaluating design packages for conformance to the design specifications, about engineering design, project management principles and concepts to include following formal configuration, change management processes, telecom, and routed networks.
- Knowledge of technical project coordination to include security controls testing with routers and other Layer 3 to Layer 7 security devices, technical evaluation of control systems and telecom technologies.
- Knowledge of project schedule and structure development concepts as they relate to large high availability WANs, telecom, transport, control, and -48VDC power systems, knowledge of best practice test plan development for project certification.
- Experience in maintaining Central Authentication Authorization & Account (AAA) systems, like Cisco ISE, (including daily checks for health of servers, trouble shoot servers, synchronization between servers, adding/removing devices, and database integrity), backend authentication one time password RSA (Remote Server Access) Key server.
