Communications System Engineer

Overview:

Join a mission-critical team supporting high-availability control center telecom and network systems. You’ll integrate, monitor, and maintain LAN/WAN networks, Cisco systems, AAA servers, and telecom management platforms. This role combines hands-on engineering, troubleshooting, documentation, automation, and collaboration across technical teams to ensure continuous operational reliability.

What You’ll Do:

• Integrate and maintain mission-critical telecom and network systems.
• Use Solarwinds, Telenium, Nokia NSP, and Ciena Blue Planet for monitoring and management.
• Perform Cisco networking in high-availability environments.
• Manage AAA authentication systems, including Cisco ISE and RSA servers.
• Develop automation and Power BI dashboards for operational insights.
• Draft technical documentation, compliance reports, and training materials.
• Collaborate across engineering, planning, and operations teams.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (ABET accredited).
• 10 years in network/telecom engineering.
• 5 years experience in LAN/WAN networking and system integration.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco networking, AAA systems, and telecom management tools.
• Preferred: Carrier Ethernet/MPLS, Linux systems, scripting, compliance knowledge.
