What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Specialist - Fanatec position at CORSAIR?
Key Responsibilities:
- Build an authentic online brand presence that speaks to the Sim Racing Community directly aligned with FANATEC’s marketing and social media strategy.
- Engage with the online community directly to create a closer relationship and relatability with our consumer base.
- Help create campaigns and drive engagement within the community surrounding product launches and major events related to racing or sim racing.
- Maintain strong knowledge of platform-specific etiquette and best practices across Reddit, Discord, and forums.
- Draft, execute, and report on community marketing plans that best support FANATEC’s vision while adapting to platform behavior and user needs.
- Analyze the effectiveness of your activations and continuously adapt to the changing community needs to ensure their continued effectiveness.
- Spot trends, memes, and cultural movements happening online while they are relevant, and be able to understand how FANATEC can best participate.
- Lead the launch of new community platforms, such as Discord, with attention to detail.
- Monitor and report on community sentiment, major discussion themes, recurring feedback, and account growth on a monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc basis.
- Flag emerging issues or potential crises early and collaborate with internal teams to address them proactively.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in communications or marketing, or demonstratable alternative experience.
- At least 3 years' experience as a Community Manager in motorsports, simulation racing titles, gaming, or a closely related industry.
- Must be in or willing to relocate to Landshut, Germany. (Relocation assistance available for the right candidate)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Skills and Competencies:
- Must have a passion for motorsports (Such as Formula 1, Formula E, IndyCar, FIA World Endurance Championship, WRC, and more) or simulation racing titles (Such as Assetto Corsa, Le Mans Ultimate, iRacing, Gran Turismo, Forza Motorsport, and more).
- Proven track record of success managing a community with an understanding of what is required for Discord, Reddit, and forums today.
- Strong understanding of sim racing hardware; owning your own sim setup is a plus!
- Proven ability to combine professionalism with creative writing to spur engagement within the community.
- Superb communication skills both online and in person with cross-disciplinary teams.
- Highly organized and a self-starter who isn’t afraid to bring ideas to the table with facts and data to back up a plan.
- Understanding privacy, compliance, and brand safety considerations within EU digital communities.
