Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Dentist to join our team. This role will focus on providing dental care to a diverse patient population within a correctional facility setting. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to high-quality dental care, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive dental care, including examinations, cleanings, fillings, extractions, and emergency dental services.
- Diagnose and treat oral health issues, including gum disease, cavities, and other dental problems.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and preventive care practices to maintain long-term dental health.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure the overall well-being of patients.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards within a correctional facility.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school.
- Valid Washington dental license.
- At least one year of clinical dental experience, preferably in a correctional, public health, or underserved population setting.
- Experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Strong diagnostic, treatment, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a correctional facility or similar environment.
- Familiarity with dental care for underserved populations.
- Continuing education or certifications in areas such as public health dentistry or oral surgery.
