The Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development (COAD) is a 50-year-old nonprofit organization that provides direct services to Ohio’s Appalachian counties in Early Care and Education, AmeriCorps Seniors, Weatherization and Energy Efficiency, and serves the state of Ohio in its accredited Weatherization Training Center. The Opportunity:
We are currently seeking a Seniors Program Coordinator based out of our Athens, Ohio office. This position serves as an active, community-focused team member responsible for volunteer coordination, community engagement, and program support for COAD's AmeriCorps Seniors programs. The Coordinator serves as the representative in initiating critical project documentation, maintaining partnerships, and supporting volunteers throughout the service area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and monitor project activities, including recruitment, training, volunteer support.
- Assist volunteers in developing and maintaining work plans that support client and community needs.
- Build and strengthen relationships with community organizations, volunteers and local partners to enhance program effectiveness.
- Maintain regular communication with volunteers and clients to assess program performance and participant needs.
- Attend required trainings, conferences, and staff development activities.
- Maintain accurate records, databases, volunteer files, and project documentation.
- Recruit and onboard new volunteers, including processing applications and maintaining required records.
- Assist Program Managers with administrative duties and special projects as needed.
- Process volunteer reports to ensure timely reimbursement of volunteer expenses.
- Meet volunteer recruitment and retention goals established for the program.
Key Qualifications:
- Associate degree and/or equivalent education, training, or experience working with adults age 55 and older and volunteer programs.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent computer and data management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience working with community organizations and volunteers preferred.
- Experience with federal grant-funded programs preferred.
- Ability to travel throughout the service area as needed.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.

Pay: $17.50 - $18.00 per hour
