Vehicle Buyer - Wood Dale, IL
Compensation: $55,000-$65,000 Full Benefits, 17 days PTO, and More.
We’re looking for a Vehicle Buyer to join our team and play a key role in sourcing and securing vehicles for our clients.
Our company has been a trusted leader in fleet management for more than 70 years, and we’ve built our business around finding solutions for our clients and getting the job done. In this role, you’ll be responsible for finding vehicles that may not be readily available, working directly with dealerships, manufacturers, and other industry partners to locate and secure the right vehicle.
If a client needs a specific vehicle and it’s out of stock or difficult to find, you’ll be the person tracking it down. You’ll research availability, make calls, negotiate pricing, explore alternatives, and coordinate the purchase through delivery.
This is a great opportunity for someone coming from vehicle purchasing, dealership operations, fleet management, vehicle acquisition, or a similar automotive environment who enjoys solving problems and getting results.
Responsibilities:
- Source and purchase vehicles based on specific client requirements
- Locate vehicles that are unavailable or out of stock through manufacturers or normal channels
- Contact dealerships, manufacturers, fleet partners, and other sources to locate vehicles
- Research availability and identify alternative vehicle options
- Negotiate pricing and purchasing terms
- Coordinate vehicle purchases, deliveries, registrations, and related documentation
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle acquisition transactions
- Monitor orders and follow up with vendors to ensure vehicles are secured and delivered
- Communicate vehicle availability, updates, and solutions to internal teams and clients
- Provide customer service throughout the acquisition process
- Help identify opportunities to improve the purchasing process
Qualifications:
- 2 years of vehicle purchasing, vehicle acquisition, or related automotive experience
- Experience with dealerships, fleet management, vehicle manufacturers, automotive purchasing, or a similar environment
- Comfortable making calls, negotiating, researching, and tracking down hard-to-find vehicles
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organization
- Ability to manage multiple vehicle requests and priorities at once
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with internal teams
