About the Role
Our client is an innovative, mission-driven organization at the forefront of the life sciences industry, focused on advancing scientific discovery and enabling breakthrough solutions. They are seeking a Controller to serve as a key financial leader and strategic partner to the business.
Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this division (approximately $30M in annual revenue) Controller oversees all accounting, financial reporting, and plant-level financial performance, while driving insights that support operational and strategic decision-making for the division located in Shaker Heights, Ohio.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Lead all accounting operations, including month-end close, reconciliations, and cost accounting
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and maintain strong internal controls
- Oversee treasury processes and revenue/expense recognition
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Analyze financial performance and identify risks and opportunities
- Partner with operations and leadership to develop forecasts and the Annual Operating Plan
- Monitor key business metrics, cost structures, and product profitability
- Drive inventory controls and performance (e.g., turns, accuracy, obsolescence)
Leadership & Business Partnership
- Lead and develop the plant finance team
- Act as a trusted advisor to cross-functional leaders
- Promote financial discipline and accountability across the business
Qualifications
- 10 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, including plant or operational finance (must have hands-on experience with Cost Accounting and Inventory)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Advanced Excel skills; ERP experience required (SAP S/4HANA a plus)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred

Salary : $120,000 - $140,000
