Vice President Finance

Corporate Connections LLC
Dallas, TX Full Time
POSTED ON 5/19/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 6/17/2026

Our client is a Christian based company guided by Christian value. Their culture is rooted in integrity, service, compassion, and biblical principles. They are seeking a candidate who is excited to support their mission and values.

Our client is a Christian education platform focused on owning and operating

companies in curriculum, education technology and services, and trade and book publishing. The Vice President, Finance is a strategic finance leader who can bridge analysis, insight, and execution. This individual will serve as a senior member of the leadership team, reporting to the Chief of Staff, and will oversee the company's financial management as a member of the company's leadership team.

This is not a traditional accounting role — it’s for a strategic finance leader who can translate financial insight into business performance and organizational flow. The ideal candidate combines analytical rigor, strong modeling capabilities, and executive leadership presence with the ability to see, interpret, and communicate financial data and insights across the business.

This role will directly lead our finance and accounting function (including the Controller), and will partner closely with operations, IT, and executive leadership to modernize our financial infrastructure, systems, and reporting capabilities. The VP sets the financial agenda and governs the process — the finance function drives execution.

Why This Role Matters

This role is pivotal to the company’s next chapter. The VP of Finance will ensure the company’s financial strategy, processes, and insights scale alongside its growth, enabling the President and leadership team to make faster, better, data-driven decisions.

Who Thrives Here?

Most education is designed around what children should know, not who they were created to be. The platform was formed to help solve that problem — empowering educators, whether teachers or parents, to develop the next generation in line with how they were created. It’s a mission that serves a diverse coalition of Christian families and traditions, and the right person for this role is secure enough in themselves to lead with curiosity and respect across those differences.

Our client is the first portfolio company in that vision, and the foundation on which they are building. It builds effective, faith-infused curriculum grounded in Biblical authority and a young-earth, creationist worldview. The families it serves have chosen to educate their children at home, and they trust our client to support them in doing so.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Strategy

  • Serve as the senior finance leader, providing strategic financial insight and decision support to the Chief of Staff and executive leadership team of our operating portfolio.
  • Own the company’s budgeting, forecasting, scenario modeling, and long-range financial planning processes across platform businesses.
  • Translate complex financial and operational data into actionable insights for executive and board-level discussions.
  • Develop scalable models that connect financial, inventory, and operational data to support multi-entity growth.
  • Support relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, board of directors, and financial institutions.
  • Drive financial performance across marketing, education, publishing, and operations — helping each function understand and improve their financial outcomes through a shared financial lens.
  • Establish and govern three core reporting cadences: annual budget cycle, quarterly board reporting, and monthly performance reporting — building processes that are documented, repeatable, and not dependent on the VP to execute.

Financial Systems & Reporting

  • Architect and refine systems and processes that enable reliable, automated, and connected financial and operational reporting.
  • Partner with IT on reporting tool integration and financial data flows to support efficiency, consistency, and timely insight across the business.
  • Design data pipelines that eliminate manual work and improve margin and inventory visibility across business lines.
  • Maintain accountability for the company’s financial controls, AR/AP, compliance obligations, and risk management framework — including tax compliance and nexus management, regulatory and legal filings, intellectual property-related financial obligations, and financial risk identification and mitigation.

Operational Excellence

  • Partner with operational leaders to drive continuous improvement across purchasing, inventory, fulfillment, and customer service.
  • Align financial and operational KPIs, enabling the business to measure and improve throughput, margins, and capital efficiency.
  • Own the company’s approach to cost management — establishing visibility across business lines, identifying efficiency opportunities, and ensuring leadership has the insight needed to make informed spending decisions.
  • Support diligence, integration, and scaling of future acquisitions under a holding-company structure (anticipated in the next 12–18 months).

Mergers & Acquisitions

  • Working with the Chief of Staff, help develop the overall M&A strategy and approach for our client. Help manage and oversee the M&A process and deal flow.
  • Conduct research and analysis on high-priority targets. Assess the financial position of the target company and create valuation models.
  • As additional portfolio companies are added, this role grows to provide platform-level financial oversight across the full portfolio
  • Support and manage the post-acquisition integration process. Help ensure synergies and strategies are being adhered to.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Directly manage the Controller and finance staff, fostering clarity, accountability, and growth.
  • Provide mentorship and structure for the finance team while partnering cross-functionally with Operations, IT, and Customer Service.
  • Elevate the capabilities of the broader organization by instilling financial discipline and systems thinking throughout.
  • Maintain accountability for HR compliance — ensuring the organization meets its legal and regulatory obligations related to employment, payroll, and related filings.

Qualifications

Non-Negotiables

  • Exceptional financial modeling and analytical skills; capable of building dynamic, decision-ready models and translating data into business strategy.
  • Executive presence and leadership maturity; able to represent to our client and to the Board, lead and develop teams, and partner confidently with senior leadership.
  • Financial planning and budget process ownership; track record of leading end-to-end budget and forecasting cycles, with the ability to drive process and hold stakeholders accountable.
  • Ability to support the company's faith-based mission and values.
  • Curiosity and sound judgment around technology and AI enablement; able to identify where emerging tools add genuine value to the finance function and the broader organization, while managing adoption thoughtfully.

Other Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business; CPA or CFA preferred.
  • 10 years of progressive finance and/or operations leadership experience, ideally in a multi-entity or complex business environment.
  • Experience with financial systems and reporting tools; familiarity with ERP environments and an ability to work within existing infrastructure.
  • Track record of leading change across both people and systems; comfortable in environments where legacy processes must evolve.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% annually is required

Physical Requirements

This role may require the ability to perform tasks that involve sitting, standing, walking, and working at a computer for long periods. Candidates should be able to meet these physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation.

Additional Information

The company offers competitive salaries, bonuses, medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, sick pay, PTO, and holiday pay.
