Independent Contractor Opportunity: Residential Cleaning Professional
Overview
We're looking for a reliable, detail-oriented independent contractor to provide residential cleaning services on a contract basis. This is not an employment position — you'll operate as your own business, setting your own methods and using your own equipment and supplies to deliver both standard residential cleanings and deep cleanings for our clients. Pay
$180–$240 per cleaning, with potential for more based on add-on services requested by the client. Most cleanings are recurring, and contractors are welcome to take on multiple cleanings and multiple client contracts at once — the more you take on, the more you earn. Paid weekly.
Scope of Services
- Perform both routine residential cleanings and deep cleanings (dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, sanitizing surfaces, and polishing fixtures)
- Complete laundry-related tasks as requested (washing, drying, folding linens)
- Apply proper sanitation practices to meet health and safety standards
- Safely handle light-to-moderate lifting and moving of furniture or items as needed to complete a job
- Address outdoor-adjacent work areas (entryways, patios) when included in a client's service scope
- Communicate professionally and directly with clients to confirm service expectations
- Report any property damage, maintenance issues, or safety hazards promptly
- Manage your own schedule to complete contracted jobs within agreed timeframes
Contractor Requirements
- Must provide your own cleaning supplies and equipment
- Must maintain a professional appearance/dress while on client premises
- Valid driver's license required
- Reliable personal transportation required
- Valid auto insurance required
- General liability insurance required (please note your coverage status when applying)
- Must be able to operate as an independent contractor (responsible for your own taxes; a completed W-9 and signed contractor agreement will be required)
Experience
- Prior experience in residential or commercial cleaning strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of floor care, carpet cleaning, and surface-appropriate sanitation methods
- Comfortable using common cleaning equipment and chemicals with proper safety handling
- Strong communication skills for direct client interaction
- Background in housekeeping, custodial, or hospitality cleaning is a plus
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
