The responsibilities of the role will include:
- Running the payment process multiple times per day; ensure proper funding and accurate file generation for ACH, checks, and cards.
- Processing money‑movement tasks including stops/voids, ACH refunds, canceled cards, and returned payments.
- Reconciling outstanding checks; review NOCs and resolve routine exceptions.
- Providing professional customer service via phone and email to clients and vendors.
- Tracking operational metrics and maintaining accurate records in accordance with procedures.
- Collaborating with IT on system issues or process improvement opportunities.
- Following documented procedures and compliance requirements, including data‑privacy/PHI handling where applicable.
Technical
- Payment processing (ACH/check/card) and exception handling
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- System navigation in bank portals and reconciliation tools
- Time management across multi‑cycle daily processing
- Issue resolution and appropriate escalation
- Compliance and control awareness
- Customer service and professional communication
- Teamwork and collaboration
- Proactive identification of red flags in data/funding
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong written communication and computer skills
- Excel competency
- 3–5 years relevant experience preferred
- Experience in payments, banking operations, or AP automation preferred
