Responsibilities
- Operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently to wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens, uniforms, and other textiles
- Perform thorough cleaning of resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, and hallways using appropriate cleaning agents and techniques
- Maintain proper sanitation standards in accordance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines to ensure a safe environment for residents and staff
- Assist with floor care tasks such as mopping, buffing, and vacuuming to uphold cleanliness standards across all facility areas
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and laundry detergents, notifying supervisors when stock needs replenishing
- Follow established protocols for infection control and environmental services to prevent the spread of germs and maintain compliance with health regulations
- Document cleaning schedules and laundry logs accurately for accountability and quality assurance
Qualifications
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience preferred; experience in healthcare or hospital settings is a plus
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to cleaning chemicals and equipment use
- Familiarity with environmental services practices including sanitation procedures and infection control protocols
- Experience with floor care techniques such as stripping, waxing, buffing, or carpet cleaning is desirable
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow specific cleaning procedures diligently
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks efficiently
