Summary
Responsible for fire alarm installations, retrofits, and tenant build-outs, identifying code and non-conformance issues, and preparing accurate and timely field reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform commercial electrical installations, service, and maintenance
- Install conduit, pull wire, terminate electrical and low-voltage devices
- Interpret electrical and fire alarm drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Ensure work is completed to code (NEC, NFPA 70; NFPA 72 if applicable)
- Communicate effectively with foremen, project managers, and inspectors
- Maintain clean and safe work areas and proper documentation of work performed
Education and/or Experience
- 2 years of experience as a commercial or industrial electrician
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, including conduit installation, wiring, and terminations
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and construction drawings
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail
Preferred:
- Experience installing or assisting with fire alarm systems
- Familiarity with NFPA 72 and local fire codes
- Low-voltage license or NICET certification (or willingness to obtain)
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification
