Data Engineer (dbt)
Location: Irving, TX (Hybrid – 4 days onsite per week
Duration: Long Term Contract
CornerStone Technology Talent Services is seeking a Data Engineer to join a growing data and analytics team. This position will help design, build, and maintain scalable data solutions that support business intelligence, reporting, and analytics initiatives across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Support the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and data models
- Build and maintain scalable data solutions using dbt, Python, and cloud-based technologies
- Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes for batch and real-time data ingestion
- Create and maintain dimensional data models to support reporting and analytics
- Monitor data pipelines and implement alerts for processing interruptions and anomalies
- Troubleshoot and resolve data quality and pipeline issues, including root cause analysis
- Support data integration efforts across multiple internal and external data sources
- Maintain data lineage, documentation, and source control practices
- Optimize database performance through query tuning and data model improvements
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into data solutions
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 2–3 years of experience with data engineering and data pipeline development
- Hands-on experience with dbt
- Strong SQL skills, including query optimization and database design
- Proficiency in Python
- Experience designing and supporting ETL/ELT processes
- Understanding of dimensional data modeling concepts
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, or similar data platforms
- Experience with AWS cloud services
- Experience with Fivetran
- Experience working with SAP ECC data sources
- Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools
