• $35.75/hour – Non-OB/GYN Certified Coder
• $42.18/hour – OB/GYN Specialty Certified Coder
• Full Time | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Temp to Perm (W2)
• Start Date: March 23, 2026
ROLE IMPACT
The Senior Medical Coder (OB/GYN) ensures accurate and compliant coding for high-value and specialty accounts. This role drives revenue integrity by translating clinical documentation into precise ICD-10-CM (diagnosis), ICD-10-PCS (inpatient procedure), and CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes. Success is defined by maintaining 95% coding accuracy, reducing claim denials, and supporting compliant billing practices through strong collaboration with health information management and clinical documentation teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Review clinical documentation and diagnostic results to assign accurate ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT codes for OB/GYN services
• Abstract, validate, and enter coded data into electronic medical record (EMR) systems
• Verify patient disposition, physician documentation, and charge capture to ensure compliant billing
• Follow official coding guidelines, reporting standards, and CPT coding conventions
• Partner with documentation integrity and revenue cycle teams to reduce denials and improve coding quality
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2 years of coding experience required
• Preferred specialty certification in OB/GYN through AAPC (COBGC)
• High school diploma required
• Must be proficient with EPIC EMR and coding systems
• Experience working with coding reference tools and encoder systems
• Must have two monitors and a laptop to work from
• Good job stability (a minimum of 1 year at all previous roles)

• Epic or Cerner EMR
• EncoderPro or 3M 360 Encompass
• Microsoft Excel and Outlook
• ICD-10 and CPT code reference platforms
Preferred Skills:
• Strong knowledge of physician documentation review and denial prevention strategies
• Ability to work independently in a remote or onsite environment while maintaining productivity and quality standards
