Position Overview
OrthoMed Anesthesia is seeking a skilled Coder/Biller to join our growing anesthesia organization. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate coding and efficient billing processes for our anesthesia services. This is a full-time position based at our corporate office in Addison, TX. The role requires on-site presence during regular business hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Assign appropriate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes for anesthesia procedures and services
- Review medical records and anesthesia reports to ensure accurate and compliant coding
- Submit clean claims to insurance companies and manage the billing cycle
- Stay updated on coding guidelines, payer policies, and regulatory changes affecting anesthesia billing
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists and other clinical staff to clarify documentation when needed
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and other healthcare laws
Qualifications
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification required
- 2 years of experience in medical coding and billing, preferably in anesthesia or a related surgical specialty
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems
- Familiarity with anesthesia billing guidelines and modifiers
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and medical billing software
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
