Position Details
- Position: CT Technologist
- Location: VA San Diego Healthcare System
- Schedule: Per Diem (Days 8am-4:30pm), Evenings, Nights (Mid-8am) and Weekends) based on your availability, facility needs, and monthly scheduling.
- 10:30am-9pm Sundays
- Flexible per diem scheduling with opportunities to pick up available shifts based on your availability, facility needs, and monthly scheduling.
- Pay Rate: $71/hr - $568/8hrs
- Benefits: Available and customized to your individual needs as part of your compensation package
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required for Federal Employment (VA) positions.
- Minimum of two (2) years of current, consecutive CT experience; hospital experience is preferred.
- Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Computed Tomography (CT) certification.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Demonstrated experience with IV insertion (venipuncture) and contrast media administration.
- Current Venipuncture/IV Certification required.
- Experience using PACS and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to caring for Veteran patients.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, pull, and move equipment and supplies in accordance with safe patient handling guidelines.
Responsabilities
- Operate CT equipment safely while adhering to departmental protocols and quality assurance standards
- Perform diagnostic CT examinations following physician orders and departmental guidelines.
- Prepare and position patients for CT scan procedures.
- Adhere to radiation safety standards, imaging protocols, and departmental policies.
- Administer IV contrast media in accordance with physician orders and monitor patients for any adverse reactions.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record and PACS.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Provide compassionate, professional care to Veterans throughout the imaging process.
