Elevator Helper Mechanic – Installation & Service
Location: Des Moines, IA (Travel Required)

We are hiring an Elevator Helper Mechanic to assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial elevators, lifts, and accessibility systems.
This is a hands-on field role in the elevator industry, working alongside experienced mechanics on install, modernization, and service projects.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with elevator and lift installation and repair
- Support mechanical and electrical troubleshooting in the field
- Work on elevator doors, rails, hoistways, and control systems (assisted)
- Service commercial elevator systems in construction and occupied buildings
- Complete job documentation and follow safety procedures
- Participate in on-call emergency service rotation
Requirements:
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude (field experience preferred)
- Experience with elevator systems, escalators, lifts, or commercial install work strongly preferred
- Ability to work at heights and lift up to 100 lbs
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to travel regionally (up to 1 week at a time)
- DOT physical card (or ability to obtain)
- OSHA 10 preferred
This is NOT a general maintenance or manufacturing role.
