TITLE: HELPER
REPORTS TO: PRESIDENT/SITE MANAGER
POSITION TYPE: FULL TIME-NON-EXEMPT
DAYS OF OPERATION: MONDAY-FRIDAY; OCCASIONAL SATURDAY/SUNDAY WORK MAY BE REQUIRED.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Helper will be responsible for safely and efficiently assisting the driver with the following: loading material into the garbage trucks, assisting with moving dumpsters and totes to the back of the truck, and any other tasks scheduled by the Dispatch Department and Management in order to meet customer's needs. This position also involves other physical duties such as washing out totes, cleaning the trucks sweeping the warehouses and other physical duties that will be assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma
• Valid Driver's License
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Most tasks will require some form of physical activity that will involve, but not limited to the following:
• Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling equipment, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, feeling standing, walking, handling, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, eye/hand/foot coordination.
• This job operates inside a warehouse, inside and outside of heavy equipment, as well as in outside conditions. This includes working in inclement weather, heat and humidity.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Push or Pull dumpsters and totes to the truck for service.
• Assist in lifting heavy or bulky items into the truck for disposal.
• Follow all Midwest Sanitation safety policies and procedures, including stopping the packer in emergency situations.
• Inspect waste; remove unacceptable items as required.
• Communicate with drivers to safely perform the job, which may include assisting with backing, operating the packer and pushing dumpsters and any other tasks the driver will need assistance.
• Physical tasks involving washing out totes, cleaning, delivering and maintaining portable toilets, and cleaning out trucks.
• Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

PAY: $18-$20/HOUR

The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, education, and training.
