What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Services Counselor position at Cornerstone Services Inc.?
Provide mental health services for adults with intellectual disabilities as recommended by the interdisciplinary team and documented in the treatment plans and assessments of people served.
-Conduct intake interviews and complete opening paperwork for referrals to the Clinical Services department.
-Participate in individuals’ staffings, as needed.
-Maintain communication with individuals' families, as appropriate.
-Participate in Psychiatric Reviews and Psychiatric Evaluations to provide feedback to the practitioner regarding their patient's current level of functioning.
-Complete the Annual Assessment of Informed Consent for people who are prescribed psychotropic medications.
-Obtain and maintain annual IM CANS certification per Medicaid Rule 140.
-Participate in monthly clinical supervision sessions and participate in continuing education to maintain applicable and required licenses and certifications. Provided clinical oversight to Mental Health Professionals (MHPs) who provide mental health services to persons served.
-Deliver mental health services as defined in the person’s treatment plan. These may include the following:
-Individual and Group Therapy
-Psychotropic Medication and Training
-Crisis Intervention
-Case Management
-Community Support
-Behavioral Counseling
-Deliver services in the community and in settings other than the primary facility as required to meet the needs of qualified individuals.
-Document all services in a timely and accurate fashion in compliance with standards established by the funder. Maintain case files in accordance with agency standards.
-Meet assigned billing benchmark as determined by the Manager of Mental Health Services.
-In collaboration with the Clinical Services team, provide training and support to staff across all programs and sites regarding behavioral and psychiatric issues.
- Maintain ongoing compliance with all agency-related training and certification requirements.
- Respond per established procedures to all emergency situations including medical, behavioral, fire, severe weather, and other hazards.
- Operate agency or personal vehicle in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Own, maintain, and use personal smartphone for company business in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Must meet QMHP requirements per Medicaid Rule 140. Master’s degree in counseling, social work, counseling/clinical psychology, or related field with successful completion of 1,000 hours of practicum and/or internship under clinical and education supervision; or one year of documented experience under the supervision of a QMHP. Driving record and auto insurance coverage in compliance with agency policy. A post-offer physical and criminal background check required. Reliable transportation required. EOE.
