About the Role
Cornerstone Lawn Services is seeking a dedicated and experienced Landscape Installation Foreman to lead our softscape and planting crews. While the Hardscape team builds the "bones" of the property, you are responsible for the "soul"—ensuring that every tree, shrub, and perennial is installed correctly to thrive for years to come. You will manage on-site logistics, crew productivity, and the precise execution of complex planting plans.
Essential Functions
- Project Leadership: Lead and manage comprehensive landscape installation projects (softscapes) with minimal supervision.
- Horticultural Execution: Read and implement detailed planting plans, ensuring proper spacing, depth, and orientation of all plant material.
- Workflow Management: Coordinate the daily staging of nursery stock, soil amendments, mulch, and equipment.
- Quality Control: Monitor plant health during the installation phase and ensure proper initial watering and soil preparation.
- Team Communication: Communicate daily production goals to your crew and provide progress updates to management.
- Site Integrity: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, respecting the client's property at all times.
Requirements
- Experience: 3–5 years of experience as a Landscape Installation Foreman or Lead.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of horticultural best practices, including soil types, plant identification, and root ball handling.
- Plan Literacy: Proven ability to read and interpret landscape designs and symbol keys.
- Drainage & Grading: Basic understanding of final grading and surface drainage to ensure plant health.
- Tool Proficiency: Experience operating equipment such as skid steers, mini-excavators, stump grinders, hedge shears and more.
- Logistics: Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle required.
- Physicality: Must be physically able to lift heavy plant material and root balls regularly.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
