NGG – OPIR (Next Generation – Overhead Persistent Infrared Program):
- Program openings will sit in either Longmont, CO or Boulder, CO (1951 S. Fordham Road in Longmont, Colorado or 6304 Spine Rd, Boulder, CO 80301)
- The program is a U.S. military space program focused on missile warning and defense. It is the next iteration of the OPIR satellite system, which is designed to detect and track missile launches, identify potential threats, and provide early warning for missile defense systems.

Job Responsibilities:
- Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities.
- Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software within the Ground Solution.
- Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.
- Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
- Ensures software standards are met.
- Maintains operations of multi-user computer systems, virtual computer systems, COTS software products, and perform system administration within the scope of the contract.
- Monitors and corrects system performance issues, backs up and restores files, patching system and operating system software, maintains software licenses and assists the Information Assurance (IA) Team with account management and system vulnerability management.
- Works closely with the customer and peer personnel to accomplish these responsibilities.
- Provides on-the-job training on system configuration, assists in deploying software/hardware deliveries, supports special projects, and assists operational crews and contractor teams in resolving system and network issues.
- Assists the IA team by providing access to system logs, instructions for monitoring user accounts, and identifying and responding to security issues/incidents.
- Supports integration, operations, and maintenance of the Ground infrastructure.
- Provides support to the hardware, network, comm and antenna infrastructure within.
- Provides real time resolution of problems to avoid and/or minimize system downtime, by monitoring, analyzing, troubleshooting, restoring outages, performing maintenance, and tracking issues.
- Conducts or participates in the research, design, development, and testing of COTS or custom computing hardware and/or other electrical components.
- Develops designs for the installation of and performs the integration of those components and assemblies into chassis, racks, cabinets, workstations, customer facilities, and/or shelters.
- Plans, directs, reviews and coordinates preparation of project documentation to ensure customer contract and company requirements are met.
- Prepares specifications, evaluates vendors, and analyzes test reports. Work is to be done in accordance with processes.
Required Skills:
- Candidate will be experienced in C , Qt framework (GUI), pub/sub messaging, PostgreSQL, Linux environments, Ansible Scripting, Agile Methodologies and the full software development cycle.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps, CI/CD pipeline, distributed systems, machine learning and multi-threaded applications is a plus.
- Proficient in Java.
