About the Role
Cornerstone Construction is seeking a detail-oriented, motivated, and collaborative Estimator to support our estimating department and work closely with our existing Estimator and Project Management team. This role is critical to ensuring accurate pricing, clear communication with clients, and smooth project execution from pre-construction through completion. The ideal candidate will have residential construction experience, strong analytical skills, and a desire to continually improve estimating systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities
As an Estimator, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Upholding Cornerstone's core values in all interactions and decisions
- Conducting site visits to evaluate potential residential and/or commercial projects
- Preparing accurate and detailed project estimates
- Presenting estimates to clients in a clear, professional manner
- Assisting Project Managers with pricing and documentation for change orders
- Collaborating with the estimating and project management teams to ensure smooth project transitions
- Refining and improving Cornerstone's pricing models and estimating systems
- Utilizing estimating software and project management platforms effectively
- Reviewing plans, specifications, and scopes of work for accuracy and completeness
- Inspecting finished projects as needed to verify scope and pricing accuracy
- Maintaining organized records and documentation related to estimates and revisions
Qualifications
- Preferred: Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction
- Preferred: Prior estimating experience in construction
- Preferred: Experience with estimating and project management systems such as Buildertrend, Xactimate, or similar platforms
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively while managing multiple estimates simultaneously
- Understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost structures
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
