Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are accounted for in the budgeting process. This role requires collaboration with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive estimates that support successful project bids and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze project drawings and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Perform detailed takeoffs and quantity surveys from project documents.
- Utilize CAD, Revit, and AutoCAD software to assist in estimating and project visualization.
- Collaborate with project managers to prepare and analyze change orders and ensure all modifications are accurately reflected in estimates.
- Manage and maintain a master bid and sales log for tracking estimates and project bids.
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers for competitive pricing.
- Participate in preconstruction meetings to discuss project scope and budget considerations.
- Prepare and submit formal bid proposals to clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in construction estimating or related field.
- Proficiency in CAD, Revit, and AutoCAD software.
- Strong understanding of construction processes and cost estimation techniques.
- Experience with change orders, takeoffs, and preconstruction bidding.
- Familiarity with project management software and CRM systems.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
