POSITION SUMMARY
The Entry-Level Field Technician for Cornerstone Construction Group's Facility Management Division is responsible for supporting a Facility Management Crew Leader in the execution of commercial maintenance and light renovation projects. This position performs physically demanding tasks, assists with repair and installation work, and maintains safe and organized job sites during day and nighttime operations.
This role serves as the foundational position within Cornerstone's Facility Management field career path and is designed for skill development and advancement.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Field Operations Support
• Assist Crew Leader with commercial maintenance and repair projects in active facilities.
• Perform demolition, material removal, and site preparation.
• Support drywall patching, painting, ceiling tile replacement, light carpentry, fixture replacement, and minor plumbing/electrical fixture swaps.
• Load, unload, and stage materials, tools, and equipment.
• Set up and break down ladders, scaffolding, and work zones.
• Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free job sites.
Safety & Compliance
• Follow OSHA regulations and company safety protocols.
• Properly use hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
• Identify and report safety concerns to Crew Leader.
• Adhere to company policies, travel procedures, and operational standards.
Professional Conduct
• Follow written and verbal instructions from Crew Leader.
• Communicate clearly regarding task completion and jobsite needs.
• Conduct work in a professional manner when interacting with customers and facility personnel.
• Represent Cornerstone Construction Group with integrity and professionalism.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Basic working knowledge of construction tools, materials, and repair techniques.
• Understanding of jobsite safety practices.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass background check and pre-employment screening.
• Availability for consistent overnight shifts.
• Willingness and ability to travel regionally on a weekly basis.
• Reliable transportation to/from home office in Rochester, Ml.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• OSHA 10 certification
• First Aid/CPR Certification
• Experience in restaurant or multi-location commercial maintenance
• Forklift or lift equipment certification
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
