Civil and Structural Engineer On-Call Services
We are looking for a talented Civil and Structural Engineer with expertise in track and yard design, rail systems, tunnels, bridges, and environmental design. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including track fastening, rail maintenance planning, noise and vibration analysis, tunnel ventilation, and environmental compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Design and oversee track and yard projects, rail systems, tunnels, and bridges.
- Perform track geometry and clearance measurements.
- Conduct environmental testing and ensure compliance.
- Develop maintenance plans for rail systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on project execution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 7 years proven experience in track and yard design, rail systems, and structural engineering.
- Proficiency in CAD software and relevant engineering tools.
- Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Maryland, Virginia and Washington
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Familiarity with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modelling.
- Experience in system safety, security, and threat analysis.
- Knowledge of survey and geomatics principles.
- Experience with project management software.
Multiple locations in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia.
Main office located at WMATA New Carrollton Rail Yard, 4100 Garden City Drive, Washington DC.
Salary Range: $43.00- $57.00 HR
