Corner Home Medical is seeking an experienced and highly organized Respiratory Coordinator to support and coordinate respiratory care services for patients throughout the community. This role combines respiratory knowledge, customer service, insurance verification, and care coordination to ensure patients receive timely, compliant, and high‑quality respiratory equipment and services.
Position Summary
The Respiratory Coordinator represents Corner Home Medical and its respiratory services to patients, referral sources, and the community. This role supports the sale, rental, and delivery of respiratory and home medical equipment, coordinates care for new and existing patients, and maintains strong ongoing relationships with physicians, hospitals, and other referral sources.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain thorough knowledge of home medical equipment, with an emphasis on respiratory devices and supplies.
- Stay current on product updates, reimbursement policies, Medicare regulations, and payer guidelines.
- Coordinate care for new and existing patients (pediatric through adult).
- Maintain excellent communication with referral sources including physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and case managers.
- Receive referrals via verbal orders, phone calls, and fax.
- Obtain and verify required documentation for insurance coverage and prior authorizations.
- Determine patient qualifications for respiratory equipment and schedule respiratory therapists accordingly.
- Act as a liaison between Corner Home Medical, physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, caregivers, and patients.
- Complete and maintain documentation in Brightree.
- Create work orders, equipment exchanges, and recurring supply orders in Brightree.
- Work closely with respiratory therapists to gather equipment and supplies for new setups and recurring orders.
- Take inbound calls from existing customers to reorder supplies and coordinate delivery.
- Track and create monthly respiratory resupply sales orders.
- Maintain an up‑to‑date calendar and assist with coordinating respiratory therapists’ daily schedules.
- Attend and actively participate in bi‑weekly clinical meetings.
- Serve as a resource for referral sources.
- Participate in sales calls with the sales team and/or respiratory therapists as needed.
- Support the development, measurement, and management of quarterly goals.
- Maintain excellent communication with all Corner Home Medical employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- Previous clinical respiratory therapy experience, including DME experience.
- 3–5 years of healthcare experience, preferably in home care or respiratory customer service..
- Working knowledge of Brightree software preferred (training available).
- Strong knowledge of home medical equipment, respiratory equipment, and reimbursement regulations.
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong teaching skills, customer service skills, conflict resolution, and active listening skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to multitask and manage frequent interruptions.
- Local knowledge of and connections within the healthcare community preferred.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and make sound decisions independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and professional phone etiquette.
