Duties
- Greet patients warmly and manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette
- Schedule appointments using Dentrix
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility checks utilizing systems with Weave and Dental Insurance Websites
- Collect payments, process dental billing, and handle collections with attention to accuracy and HIPAA compliance
- Review and update patient records, ensuring proper documentation of treatment plans and clinical notes
- Assist with intake procedures, including collecting patient information and updating electronic health records (EHR systems)
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar medical office role with dental clinic experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical coding (CPT, ICD-9/10)
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and proficiency with office management software like Meditech or Athenahealth
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies
- Exceptional customer service skills combined with effective phone communication and clerical experience
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and health information management
- Prior clinic or hospital experience is advantageous; must be able to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment
