Job Summary
This role has been filled by employees over the years who have since attended, and completed Veterinary school, LVT programs, and Veterinary Assistant jobs. This is a great opportunity to gain experience with an LVT on staff at all times to educate and train, as well as create relationships with various Veterinary professionals in Suffolk and Nassau County. Holidays and weekend shifts are required with overtime pay for holidays. All candidates must provide a list of three references to show responsibility and reliability.

Duties
- Supervise dog playgroups, ensuring safe interactions and monitoring behavior to prevent conflicts or injuries
- Assist with dog handling, animal restraint, and outdoor activities to promote healthy socialization and exercise
- Maintain cleanliness of the facility by cleaning kennels, play areas, and equipment to ensure pet care facility sanitization standards are met
- Observe and assess animal behavior, noting any signs of stress or discomfort and reporting concerns promptly
- Support pet boarding and pet sitting services by providing attentive care during daily routines
- Assist with medicating, feeding, and caring for dogs with various health issues
Skills
- Prior veterinary experience or veterinary technician experience is sought after, but not necessary
- Pet sitting, pet boarding, or animal care experience demonstrating responsibility and compassion for animals is sought after, but not necessary
- Kennel experience or animal handling expertise to ensure proper restraint and safety protocols are followed is sought after, but not necessary
- Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling large dogs or moving equipment
- Outdoor work experience to comfortably manage activities in various weather conditions
- Commitment to cleanliness through pet care facility sanitization practices
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
