CORE is seeking a fulltime Construction Safety Manager to serve our construction projects throughout Arizona. The new Safety Manager will work as a leader and coach to all our field teams, working with our project teams on several commercial construction projects, primarily for K-12 school districts, colleges, municipalities and public safety buildings. You will act as a liaison and safety resource for the site team and support project sites by monitoring and ensuring that the employees are practicing the policies and procedures of our projects and Safety Manual. This is an in-person position, with travel to multiple construction project sites.
The Safety Manager will help to monitor the safety of the work necessary to complete our company’s construction projects, perform several safety audits, training and assessment tasks, lead safety stand-downs, promote safety improvements and track safety observations on our jobsites. Focused on the support of each team’s project safety efforts, the Manager will maintain and teach proficiency with industry technologies to both CORE’s staff as well as our trade partners and subcontractors, including Environmental Health Safety software such as Predictive Solutions and Procore. The Manager will also assist with quality control observations and tracking, and input data and observations into tracking software.

Responsibilities Include
- Administers, orientates and assists our trade partners to ensure safety policies and procedures are practiced following CORE’s safety program
- Conducts new hire safety orientation outlining the safety program, safety requirements and expectations on the project site, as well as the client’s safety policies and procedures
- Prepares, coordinates and conducts training on health, safety and environmental related topics to protect, improve and maintain the employees’ and the project sites performance, as well as complying with legislative requirements
- Works closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to provide a clean, safe, secure and hazard free project sites in compliance with the CORE policies & procedures, as well as the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Conducts random and scheduled project site inspections, communicates findings to ensure workplace safety and routinely audits on-site safety compliance
- Assists supervisors in properly investigating and documenting all incidents/accidents and injuries, as well as ensuring a system is kept in place with proper documentation
- Coordinates and maintains workplace plans, such as emergency evacuations, fire emergency, traffic controls, etc.
- Communicates information on identified hazards, precautions and required corrective actions throughout the project site, as necessary
- Establishes and interfaces with on-site relationships with clients', subcontractors and suppliers
- Provides guidance and expertise to field staff on health and safety issues, as well as provides consultative advice to the project sites for continuous improvement
- Keeps proper records and documents related to safety in good condition and current as per legislative requirements
- Stays abreast with current health and safety knowledge, trends, laws and regulations
- Distributes safety material, supplies and equipment
Candidate Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years construction safety or industrial safety supervisory experience
- Professional Degree in Health & Safety or related field (construction management, engineering, etc) is preferred
- Must be able to pass a background check, as required by our clients
- OSHA 30
- CHST is preferred
- First Aid / CPR Certified is preferred
- Strong and assertive communications skills, both written and verbal
- Basic understanding of construction drawings and floor plans
- Basic understanding of subcontractor and construction sequencing
- Technology: Experience with Microsoft Office, Procore and Predictive Solutions
- Must work well in a team environment and be committed to client service
- Must be willing to travel throughout the state of Arizona
- A valid Driver’s License
