What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant PreConstruction Manager position at CORE?
CORE is looking for a results-oriented Preconstruction professional to join our growing Florida team at the Fort Lauderdale office. This fast-paced department aims to provide professional preconstruction and virtual construction services for large-scale Commercial, K-12, Higher Education, Healthcare and Municipal projects.
The new Assistant PreConstruction Manager will provide comprehensive preconstruction services, including estimating, scheduling, value engineering, risk management, bid solicitation and subcontractor outreach/procurement on multiple large-scale commercial construction projects. This will involve collaboration with owners, architects, preconstruction team members and the Operations team. This individual will assist with the development and organization of document control, tracking and distribution of construction documents and assist with meeting minutes for clients and trade partners.
The individual will work on quantity take-offs, identify unique features of work, help develop the general conditions of a project, and research historical cost data, among other tasks related to the planning of major commercial construction projects. The individual will also assist in creating options studies, value engineering, bid solicitation, project scheduling and help delineate and assign scopes of work.

- Minimum of one year of experience as part of a preconstruction, engineering, design or construction team (Internships count!)
- Professional Degree in construction management, architecture or a related field (mechanical or civil engineering) is required
- Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
- Technology: Familiarity with relevant construction industry technology and applications, including Assemble, Revit, Navisworks, Microsoft Project is preferred
- Familiarity with Sketchup, Bluebeam, Procore and/or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
- Must live within a commutable distance from Fort Lauderdale, Florida
- Must work well in a team environment and be committed to client service
- Expectations: Attention to detail, excellent communication (written and verbal), strong organizational skills, ability to interact as part of a team
- A valid Driver’s License
- This is an exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act and employee is not eligible for overtime compensation.
