Cardella Construction Company is looking for a passionate, hard-working, energetic, and experienced Preconstruction Manager II to join our growing team. This individual will serve as a trusted partner to our clients, design teams, and operations leaders - driving estimating strategy, managing risk, and positioning projects for successful execution before construction ever begins.
What you'll be up to:
- Lead the preconstruction process from conceptual design through contract execution.
- Partner with owners, architects, consultants, and internal teams to align project goals, budget, schedule, and design.
- Develop and manage preconstruction schedules, deliverables, and milestone tracking.
- Lead estimating efforts, quantity takeoffs, value engineering, and budget development.
- Develop bid packages, procurement strategies, and subcontractor scopes.
- Evaluate subcontractor proposals and lead bid leveling and procurement recommendations.
- Identify project risks early and develop mitigation strategies related to scope, cost, schedule, and constructability.
- Collaborate with Operations to ensure a seamless transition from pursuit to project execution.
- Present estimates, budgets, schedules, and procurement strategies to clients and executive leadership.
- Mentor and support junior preconstruction team members.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent field experience).
- 10 years of commercial construction experience, including at least 5 years leading preconstruction, estimating, or related functions.
- Demonstrated success leading complex commercial pursuits from concept through contract award.
- Strong understanding of conceptual estimating, value engineering, procurement strategy, constructability, and risk management.
- Experience developing client relationships and collaborating with owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners.
- Proven ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, Procore, Microsoft Office, and estimating software.
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
