What are the responsibilities and job description for the Information Technology Manager position at Core Technology Solutions?
Core Technology Solutions (CTS) is a relationship-driven technology recruiting and staffing firm focused on connecting organizations with exceptional IT talent. We believe successful recruiting begins with understanding the people, the environment, and the long-term objective — then delivering the right fit, not simply the next available candidate.
We're looking for a hands-on technical leader to guide a small team in designing and deploying agentic AI solutions. This individual will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, forward-thinking environment, combining strong technical expertise with the business acumen to translate innovative technology into meaningful business outcomes.
Information Technology Manager
Columbia, S.C. | Direct Hire | Remote | Excellent benefits and perks!
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Information Technology Manager is a working leader — roughly a quarter of the role is leading a small, high-performing team, and the majority is building. This person delivers business solutions directly, using artificial-intelligence-assisted development ("vibe coding") with tools such as Claude Code and Hermes alongside a .NET, React, Angular, and Microsoft SQL Server stack in a Microsoft 365 environment.
The Information Technology Manager also leads the design and rollout of agentic solutions — connecting artificial intelligence to company systems so work gets done faster, safer, and with less manual effort. Working in partnership with the Chief Operating Officer, the Information Technology Manager shapes and executes the organization's technology strategy, serves as the bridge between technical work and business outcomes for staff, members, and partners, and serves as the South Carolina Data Security Act Compliance and Privacy Officer. The role also sits on the Incident Response Team and Business Continuity Team.

- 1 year of hands-on artificial-intelligence-assisted development using agentic coding tools (for example, Claude Code, Hermes, or comparable)
- Experience building or connecting Model Context Protocol servers and agent tooling
- Experience leading or mentoring technical staff, or managing technology projects end to end

- Token efficiency: prompt caching, context management, model tiering, and batching to control cost and speed
